Meet Messenger 4.

Facebook announced that the new version of its popular messaging app has a simpler and sleeker interface.

Messenger 4 will have three tabs for Chats, People and Discover instead of the nine in the current version.
Conversations will be front and center in the Chats tab. Users can also click on the Camera icon to easily capture and share images.

The People tab allows users to find friends and catch up on Stories. If you're bored and need someone to talk to, use this tab to find out if anyone is online.
Discover is for users to connect with businesses to get the latest deals, book a holiday and follow news updates, as well as play Instant Games.

Messenger 4 also allows users to pick multiple colours for their conversations and chat bubbles.
Users can see colours change from red to blue as they scroll through the conversation. Colour gradients can be customised at any time to reflect moods or topics.
Facebook also says that it will introduce much-requested features like Dark Mode and a re-skinned interface that cuts down on glare in the near future.

Messenger 4 is being rolled out globally over the coming weeks.
